Katy Kohler is an advanced trimix rebreather diver who has conducted scientific and recovery diving in all environs, from the Antarctic ice to the warm Pacific Ocean. A career firefighter-Paramedic for over a decade, she has also been a member of a public safety dive team. On recent dive expeditions, she has operated as operations and safety officer, planning for emergency medical care for the dive team and drafting both the standard and emergency operations procedures for a number of HMHS Britannic projects. As a photographer, she has had her work published in advertisements, equipment reviews, magazine articles and the newly released book “Inside Britannic”. Beyond diving, she is an experienced ice climber and helicopter pilot.

Katy has been a member of a few notable expeditions, including the 2021 HMHS Britannic Expedition, sponsored by The Explorers Club, Discovery- the 2022 HMHS Britannic Photogrammetry Expedition, the 2023/24 HMHS Britannic Interior survey projects, the Winter 2024 POLES Antarctic Project and the 2025 HMHS Britannic Archeological Recovery project. She has also been an archeological diver on a number of government-sponsored expeditions in the South Pacific.
