Options For Open Water Diver Certification
Open Water - Confined Water - Complete the eLearning and pool skills with Y-kiki Divers prior to your checkout dives. Do your checkout dives with us or on vacation...
Open Water Checkout Dives - Complete your checkout dives with Y-kiki Divers and be ready to dive on vacation. Spend vacation dives diving instead of completeing your certification...

Private Open Water Diver - Contact the shop if a private course suits you better. We will work with your schedule to complete the class & pool work and/or the checkout dives...
Prerequisites:
A Medical Questionnaire must be completed by all participants. Some participants may require their Physician’s approval prior to in-water activities. Participants must be at least 10 years old, in good health, reasonable fitness, and feel comfortable in the water.
Earning the Open Water Diver certification requires completion of the below modules.
Knowledge Development
Convenient online access to knowledge development course materials on PADi's eLearning platform using your computer or mobile device.- Complete eLearning when and where it's convenient for you prior to your pool training.
- Approximately 10-15 hours.
- Lifetime access to your eLearning materials.

Confined Water Dives
- Develop basic scuba skills and equipment handling techniques in a pool.
- Classes scheduled every weekend (barring select holidays).
- The weekend starts at 7:30am on Saturday at one of our shops.
- The 2 pool sessions are 12-5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
- You provide your own mask, snorkel, boots, and fins (students get a discount if buying all those items from Y-kiki Divers).
- Y-kiki Divers provides the rest of the required equipment.
Open Water Training Dives
Put it all together and apply your diving knowledge and skills while making four open water dives. If you complete your certification with Y-kiki Divers:
- We typically schedule checkout dives at Mermet Springs every weekend during the diving season (end of April through the end of October).
- We complete 3 dives on Saturday, starting at 8am - weather permitting. On Sunday we complete the reamining dive(s), again starting at 8am.
- You provide your own mask, snorkel, boots, and fins.
- Y-kiki Divers provides the rest of the required equipment.
Open Water Training Dives are held every weekend at Mermet Springs from the end of April through the end of October.
Sign up below to receive information on our Local Diving Adventures Group - more commonly known as the Fun Diving Club. It's an opportunity to join Y-kiki's experienced staff and other local divers diving at a nearby dive site. Diving makes better divers... so let's go diving!
Continue Your Training
PADI Reactivate - Certified diver in need of a refresher? Been away from diving a while and need to work on all your skills? We offer two Reactivate class options. The private class is for those who want one on one instruction or need options beyond our regularly scheduled classes. Our regularly scheduled classes are ideal for anyone who has been out of the water a short time (less than 5 years)...
Dry Suit Diver - Don't let our colder water stop you from diving! Dive dry, stay warm, dive often. Do all your open water dives using one of our dry suits and become PADI Dry Suit certified the same weekend you do your Open Water Diver certification dives (additonal cost and pool training). Contact the shop to add this specialty at a discount. It counts as one of five specialties required for Master Scuba Diver certification.

Bundle Additional Specialties with your weekend of checkout dives and save 20% on the additional course(s). Call the shop to add a specialty or two and maximize your time and investment at the quarry. Peak Performance Buoyancy and Enriched Air Diver are great options, and both count toward your Master Scuba Diver Rating.

Advanced Open Water Diver - Continue the adventure with the Advanced Open Water Diver course. Increase your depth limit while trying out 5 specialties by completing the first dive of each course.
