Step back into history and dive beneath the surface of the South Pacific. During World War II, intense air battles over Papua New Guinea led to countless aircraft losses—some shot down in combat, others claimed by mechanical failure or the unforgiving ocean.

Through breathtaking imagery and a diver’s unique perspective, the Stayers explore seven WWII aircraft wrecks, including a Japanese Zero, two Petes, a Kate, and an Australian Catalina. The presentation also features two extraordinary American B-25 bombers, each with unforgettable stories—one hidden deep in the jungle and another resting in crocodile-infested waters. This compelling program brings history to life, honoring the stories, sacrifices, and mysteries that still lie beneath the waves.

Jim and Pat Stayer are acclaimed underwater filmmakers, Fellows of The Explorers Club, and Associate Members of the Boston Sea Rovers, known for capturing extraordinary animal behavior, historic shipwrecks, and remote dive destinations around the world. Popular presenters across North America, they inspire audiences with stunning imagery and compelling stories of discovery. Together, they have discovered multiple shipwrecks, co-authored three books, produced hundreds of multimedia presentations, and had their work featured on major international networks, while also directing several film festivals. Pat is a member of the Women Divers Hall of Fame, and Jim is a U.S. Coast Guard Captain; together, they continue to share a remarkable life of exploration and adventure above and below the surface.
